Education: Martha is a graduate of the National Academy for Paralegal Studies and Jones College, Cuyahoga Falls School of Practical Nursing.
Background: Martha assists trial attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation, including client and witness interviews, legal research, drafting and filing, motions and legal documents and preparing trial notebooks and exhibits. She is FCCD"s jury selection specialist having attended numerous seminars on the subject and assisting with jury selection at trials. Martha established procedures for acquiring cases at bind over from the Fulton County jail and performs initial client interviews with other support staff. Martha also assists the Director in compiling FCCD statistics and reports.
Before joining FCCD, Martha was an Administrative Aide with the Georgia Indigent Defense Council. She was responsible for the dispersal of over one million dollars of State appropriated funds to Georgia counties for indigent defense programs. She was responsible for maintaining liaison with court and governmental personnel throughout the4 state. She developed funding application forms, compiled statistical data and performed ongoing monitoring of county indigent defense programs for compliance with GIDC guidelines.
