Kazuma Sonoda, Jr.

BACKGROUND
Kazuma Sonoda Jr. is a staff attorney in the major case division. Mr. Sonoda practices before the Honorable Judge T. Jackson Bedford, Jr. and is in charge of representing all Spanish Speaking clients the office may have in Fulton County Superior Court. Born in Miami, Florida, in 1975, he received his undergraduate degree in public policy studies and spanish from Duke University in 1997. At Duke, Mr. Sonoda served as Vice-Chair of the Duke University Campus Council, Representative in the Edens Quadrangle Council, and President of the Duke University Language Theme House. In 1996, Mr. Sonoda worked with the Georgetown University Criminal Justice Clinic and helped in the investigation and preparation of criminal cases of indigent defendants in the Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia area.
He came to Georgia in 1997 to attend the Emory University School of Law. At Emory, Mr. Sonoda served as Representative at Large, Law School Representative, and Administrative Committee Chair to the Emory Student Government Association, Treasurer and Secretary of the Graduate Student Senate, and was active with the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity and Emory Public Interest Committee. Mr. Sonoda also worked with the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia as an intern in their Organized Crime Strike Force. He received his juris doctor in May 2000.
