Gary G. Guichard

Supervisor, Major Case Division


Background: Gary G. Guichard is currently the supervising attorney for the Major Case Division of the Fulton County Conflict Defender, Inc. Gary has been representing the indigent accused for nearly 19 years. He started out in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office where he worked for over 10 years. After relocating to Atlanta he went to work for the Multicounty Public Defender; a trial level capital resource center. Gary was on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for 6 years. He is currently on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College and teaches at the New York State Defender Institute. Gary recently became an Associate Professor at Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he teaches trial advocacy. Gary has taught trial advocacy or lectured on various criminal law issues for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maryland Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Maryland Public Defender Association, the Indiana Public Defender Council, the National Legal Aid and Defender Association, Wisconsin Public Defender Association and the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
